BeerFes Osaka
Award-winning breweries, unlimited tasting sessions, and one of Japan’s most respected beer festivals are set to return to Osaka this November.

Osaka has no shortage of beer festivals, but BeerFes asks you to leave the giant plastic cup behind. Here, the fun starts with a small tasting glass, more than 100 beers and a simple challenge: how much can you discover when you stop ordering a full pint of something you already know?
BeerFes approaches craft beer less like an outdoor party and more like an enormous tasting room. Part of Japan’s long-running Great Japan Beer Festival series, admission opens the door to unlimited small pours, giving visitors the freedom to compare styles, revisit favorites and take chances on beers they might never order by the glass.
More than 100 beers are planned for BeerFes Osaka on November 14–15, including medal winners from the 2025 International Beer Cup and 2026 Japan Great Beer Awards. Brewers and beer judges will also be in the room, turning a quick sample into a chance to ask questions, explore unfamiliar styles and better understand what’s actually in the glass.
That’s what makes BeerFes different. The dedicated tasting glass isn’t just a souvenir; its shape is designed to bring aromas forward, while the small pours make side-by-side comparisons possible without committing to an entire serving. Start with something familiar, move into a style you’ve never tried, then circle back. For newcomers, it’s an unusually approachable way into craft beer. For enthusiasts, it can become a wonderfully nerdy afternoon.
There’s serious brewing pedigree behind all that experimentation. BeerFes is organized by the Japan Craft Beer Association, which also operates the International Beer Cup and Japan Great Beer Awards. The result is an event where enthusiasts studying tasting lists mingle with people who simply walked in wanting to try good beer. There is no requirement to know your pilsner from your porter before coming through the door. Curiosity is enough.
BeerFes isn’t really about seeing how many samples you can fit into a session. It’s about finding the one you didn’t expect to like. Taste something strange, talk to the person who brewed it, compare it with something completely different and follow your palate wherever it goes. Your new favorite art beer may be one you’d never have thought to order.

THE EXPERIENCE
BeerFes is built around tasting and comparing beer rather than buying full glasses one at a time. Small pours make it possible to explore a much broader range of styles during a single session.
- Taste from more than 100 beers under one roof.
- Sample medal winners from the International Beer Cup 2025 and Japan Great Beer Awards 2026.
- Compare different styles using BeerFes’ dedicated tasting glass.
- Meet brewers and beer judges and ask about what you’re drinking.
- Explore unfamiliar styles without committing to a full glass.
Come with a plan or simply follow your curiosity—the small-pour format makes experimentation part of the experience.
INFO & TIPS
Unlimited Doesn’t Mean Full Glasses
BeerFes is a tasting event. Expect small samples designed for comparing many beers rather than conventional festival-size pours.
Start Slowly
With more than 100 beers available, there’s no reason to race through the lineup. Water, food and breaks become increasingly sensible as the session progresses.
Use the Glass
The supplied tasting glass isn’t simply a souvenir. Its shape is intended to help concentrate aroma and make side-by-side comparison easier.
Look for the Medal Winners
The 2026 selection includes beers recognized at the International Beer Cup 2025 and Japan Great Beer Awards 2026.
Ask Questions
Brewers and beer judges are part of the experience. BeerFes is unusually well suited to visitors who want to understand styles, ingredients and brewing techniques rather than simply sample what’s on tap.
Check the Session on Your Ticket
BeerFes does not operate as an all-day drop-in festival. There is one Saturday session and two Sunday sessions, each separately ticketed.
2026 Lineup Still Developing
More than 100 beers are confirmed, but the complete brewery and beer lineup has not yet been released. Check the official site closer to the event.
